This allowed Beer Money to hit their finisher on Brother Devon to get the win!
- Kurt Angle became the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion by winning the King Of The Mountain main event, beating Mick Foley, Jeff Jarrett and AJ Styles...with help from Samoa Joe!!! In the opening six-man match on the Pay-Per-View, Lethal Consequences and Eric Young beat The Motor City Machinegs and Sheik Abdul Bashir when Machismo beat Bashir (Bashir tried to block the pin by grabbing the ropes, but the referee kicked them off). After the match, Bashir was upset with the referee's role in costing him the bout.
- Taylor Wilde beat the maniacal Daffney in the first-ever Knockouts Monster's Ball Match. After the bout, Dr. Stevie Richards poured out the bag of tacks and demanded Abyss slam Wilde into them! Abyss refused, and when Richards shoved Lauren Brooke, Abyss instead slammed Richards into the tacks.
- In the X Division Championship match, Suicide retained over Daniels via a time limit draw. However, during the bout the Motor City Machineguns cost Suicide the bout, leading to Daniels getting the win. But when Daniels saw the replay, he refused to accept the win and asked the referee to restart the match. The referee allowed it, and bother Daniels and Suicide fought to the time limit. In the end, Daniels handed the X Title to Suicide and the two superstars congratulated each other on an amazing match.
- In the Knockouts Title match, a terrified Angelina Love retained the gold after getting the pin on Kong after spraying her in the eyes with her perfume. After the bout, Kong cleared her vision and attack Love!
- "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe bloodied and defeated his former mentor, Kevin Nash, ultimately forcing him to tap out to a clutch submission. After Joe got the win, he continued to assault Nash, leading to security hitting the ring. "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner came out to check on his fellow Main Event Mafia member.
- In the finals of the Team 3D Tag Team Tournament, Beer Money, Inc defeated The British Invasion to earn $100,000, a trophy and a shot at the TNA World Tag Team Championship. The British Invasion attempted to use the briefcase they stole from Hernandez during the bout, but Beer Money turned the tables and used it instead, allowing James Storm to hit the superkick for the pin.
- In an I-Quit match for the TNA Legends Championship, AJ Styles defeated Booker T to retain the gold after Jenna Morasca threw in the towel from Booker's corner. After a grueling bout, AJ got the best of Booker with an armbreaker after Booker was accidentally distracted by his wife Sharmell. When Booker refused to quit, Morasca tossed in the towel, resulting in the referee stopping the match and awarding the decision to Styles!
- In the "Ultimate Sacrifice" main event featuring TNA World Heavyweight Champion Mick Foley vs. TNA Founder Jeff Jarrett vs. Sting vs. Kurt Angle, "The Icon" Sting got the pin on Kurt Angle to win the bout after Jeff Jarrett hit The Stroke on Angle! - The team of Taylor Wilde, Roxxi and The Governor defeated The Beautiful People and Madison Rayne after Wilde beat Rayne with a German suplex to get the pin.
- Brutus Magnus defeated Eric Young after Young answered the newcomer's open challenge. Magnus got the pin after a spinning cutter from the top rope. Following the bout, Sheik Abdul Bashir came out and questioned why he wasn't on the Pay-Per-View. As a result, Jim Cornette kicked Bashir out of the arena, but not before Cornette allowed the United States soldier that introduced Eric Young to sing "God Bless America".
- "The Blueprint" Matt Morgan defeated Abyss in the Match Of 10,000 Thumbtacks after Morgan kicked Abyss off the entrance ramp into a table filled with the thumbtacks.
- In the finals of the One Night With ODB, the TNA Knockout picked Cody Deaner as her lucky man after a dance competition between Deaner, Shark Boy and a Mr. Bernie Weber.
- Awesome Kong successfully defended the TNA Knockouts Championship against Sojo Bolt after beating Bolt with the Awesome Bomb.

- Team 3D first defeated Beer Money by disqualification in the "Off The Wagon" Challenge after James Storm used a chair. However, Jim Cornette restarted the match, leading to Beer Money losing by countout after they left the arena! 3D hit their finisher on Storm, but Robert Roode yanked him out of the ring and carried him on this back out of the arena while the referee counted the 10. Beer Money are still the reigning champions despite the loss. After the match, Team 3D got into an argument with Don West at the announce table, who was defending Beer Money's actions and actually handed Roode the tag team titles as he fled!
- Mysterious TNA newcomer Suicide became the new X Division champion on Sunday night by defeating Jay Lethal, Consequences Creed, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin in The Ultimate X Match! It was truly one of the most daredevil Ultimate X bouts in TNA history, as Suicide made an insane leap from the top of the steel structure to the center cables, knocking down the other competitors and pulling down the gold to win the championship!
- In the main event, Sting defeated Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle to successfully defend the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. During the bout, Angle accidentally hit Jarrett with a clothesline, knocking the special referee for a loop. Foley came in to help, but Angle hit him with a low blow and then brought a chair into the ring. Foley took the chair from Angle and went to hit him with it, but he missed and nailed Sting! However, when Angle started talking trash to Jarrett, Jarrett smashed Angle in the face, allowing Sting to hit the Scorpion Deathdrop for the pin and the win as Foley and Jarrett raised Sting's arm in victory to end the event!

- In a bonus bout, the team of The Latin American Xchange and Eric Young won a six man tag team elimination match, beating Jimmy Rave, Kiyoshi and "The Guru" Sonjay Dutt. Hernandez last eliminated Jimmy Rave to win the bout.
- Alex Shelley became the new TNA Wrestling X Division Champion, beating fellow Motor City Machineguns tag team partner Chris Sabin in an amazing tournament final. However, Shelley faked an ankle injury in order to get the quick pin, something that may not sit well with Sabin.
- In addition to Christy Hemme's injury, it was announced that Kevin Nash would be unable to compete tonight due to a staph infection. Also, Rhino hadn't arrived at the arena yet.
- Referee Shane Sewell beat Sheik Abdul Bashir after Earl Hebner helped Sewell get the win. After the match, the other TNA officials celebrated with Sewell.
- Beer Money regained the TNA World Tag Team Championship in a three-way match over the teams of Jay Lethal & Consequences Creed and Abyss & Matt Morgan. Miscommunication by Morgan and Abyss (Abyss accidentally hit his partner with the TNA Tag Team Title) led to Robert Roode getting the win over Morgan in the end. Following the bout, Abyss and Morgan almost came to blows, but cooler heads prevailed.
- In the back, Kurt Angle admitted to Jim Cornette that the Main Event Mafia attacked Rhino earlier that day at the hotel. Rhino's whereabouts were still unknown.
- Due to a neck injury that will require surgery, Christy Hemme was unable to compete for the TNA Women's Championship. As a result, a Knockout Tag Team match was held with ODB, Roxxi and Taylor Wilde vs. Rhaka Khan, Raisha Saeed and Sojournor Bolt, with the winner earning a Women's Title shot. ODB ended up getting the pin on Saeed, thereby winning a shot at Kong's gold. After the bout, Kong came to the ring and joined the rest of her alliance in annihilating ODB, Roxxi and Taylor!
- In a bloody, violent, chaotic and emotional bout, Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle defeated TNA Founder Jeff Jarrett in their epic rematch, held under no disqualification rules. It was an all-out brawl, with Jarrett taking everything Angle could punish him with, including a steel chair and an Olympic Slam off the entrance ramp through a table! In the end, Jarrett (bloodied and barely able to walk) attempted to cover Angle, but the Olympian reversed it into a backslide for the win. After the bout, Angle continued to attack Jarrett and trapped his ankle in the steel chair while he stomped on it! Jarrett was taken from the ring on a stretcher by EMTs.
- In the TNA World Heavyweight Championship match, "The Icon" Sting successfully defended against a bloodied and battered Rhino, who had been attacked earlier in the day by members of The Main Event Mafia and was able to make it to the arena just before the bout. However, Rhino was beaten down by the champion, who eventually got the win with the Scorpion Deathdrop to retain the gold!
-In the main event, TNA Executive Shareholder Mick Foley made his successful in-ring return by teaming with AJ Styles and Brother Devon to defeat Scott Steiner, Booker T and Kip James (subbing for Kevin Nash). Foley got the win in the bout, beating Scott Steiner in the end. At one point, the referee stopped the match and ordered a double-countout, but Mick Foley restarted it under hardcore rules! TNA Wrestling's "Genesis" pay-per-view show could mark a new beginning for "Brother" Devon Hughes.
Paired with Mick Foley and A.J. Styles against Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner and Booker T in Sunday night's main event, Hughes won't be teaming with longtime partner Brother Ray (real name Mark "Bubba Ray" LoMonaco). That separation may be a harbinger of things to come.
Not that there's personal trouble between Brother Devon and Brother Ray in Dudleyville (the mythical New York City borough where the duo was long billed as originating). Performing as Team 3D, Hughes and LoMonaco captured their 22nd major tag-team title last weekend by winning a New Japan Pro Wrestling tournament in Tokyo.
But Hughes is admittedly uncertain how frequently LoMonaco will be wrestling in the future. Hughes said LoMonaco has taken an indefinite break from TNA matches after recently suffering a story-line injury.
Hughes said LoMonaco, 37, is feeling the effects of a rough-and-tumble grappling style dating to their days as the Dudley Boyz in Extreme Championship Wrestling from 1996 to 1999. Those injuries never healed properly as the Dudleys spent the next six years performing almost nonstop in World Wrestling Entertainment.
"Bodywise, he's pretty messed up," Hughes said Tuesday during a telephone interview. "I saw this coming two or three years ago. There were times where even getting on a plane was hard for him.
"Back in the Hulk Hogan days (in the 1980s), those guys knew how to last a lot longer. For our generation, the (aging) process is sped up because of everything more we do in the ring. You can't do all that flying and flipping and not pay a price."
Uncertain if or when Brother Ray will resume a full-time schedule, Hughes said he is approaching LoMonaco's hiatus as a chance to prove he can excel as a singles performer. The heavily muscled Hughes recently began slimming down while upping his cardiovascular training to better prepare for the demands of solo action.
"Bubba and I are definitely two different people," Hughes said. "That's how we balance each other out. What he lacks in wrestling ability, I pick up. What I lack in talking, he picks up. But I still think when I'm given the mike, I've always held my own."
Hughes is drawing motivation from a failed 2002 singles run when WWE split the Dudleys. While LoMonaco had a modicum of success as a hard-core performer, Hughes flopped when re-cast as the villainous Reverend Devon. The only memorable aspect of the gimmick was Hughes' helping to launch the WWE career of Dave "Deacon" Bautista as his protege. Reunited by year's end, the Dudleys continued working as a WWE tag team until leaving in 2005 for TNA.
Hughes believes he wasn't given enough time to prove he could excel as Reverend Devon. Hughes said WWE owner Vince McMahon yanked the creative freedom he was originally given and the promotion 's scriptwriters soured on the character.
"If I fail as a singles wrestler now, I fail," said Hughes, who wrestled solo on the Northeastern independent circuit before becoming a Dudley. "But at least I'll go out knowing I did my best."
In an industry where tag teams rarely last more than a few years, Hughes and LoMonaco have stood together through thick and thin. The duo spurned a chance to rejoin WWE last fall by signing three-year contracts with TNA, which Hughes praises for its family atmosphere, young talent base and more modest touring schedule.
Team 3D also has done an A-plus job preparing for life after wrestling. A recently engaged father of four, Hughes owns his own smoothie store (3D Powerblendz) in Melbourne, Fla. LoMonaco and his family run an Orlando-area spa and salon. Plus Hughes and LoMonaco are business partners in an Orlando-area wrestling school (Team 3D Academy).
As it stands now, Team 3D will be remembered as one of the industry's greatest tandems. Hughes, though, said he isn't close to writing the finale on his grappling career.
"If Bubba decided to retire before me, he's going to be the only one retiring," said Hughes, 36. "I'm going to still be going strong."

Lethal's briefcase was opened following the bout, revealing he has earned a shot at the TNA World Tag Team Championship. Alex Shelley disputed Lethal's ownership of the briefcase, as Lethal grabbed it from Shelley before he could exit the ring with it!
- ODB, Roxxi and Taylor Wilde beat The Beautiful People and Sharmell when Wilde got the win on Angelina Love
- Thanks to an assist by referee Shane Sewell, Eric Young beat Sheik Abdul Bashir to win the X Division Championship. After the bout, a enraged Bashir bloodied the referee. However, TNA Management Director Jim Cornette came out and took the title from Bashir and refused to give it back!
- Christy Hemme beat TNA Knockout Women's Champion Awesome Kong by disqualification after Kong's manager Raisha Saeed got involved
- Beer Money Inc ("Cowboy" James Storm and Robert Roode) retained the TNA World Tag Team Championship over Abyss and "The Blueprint" Matt Morgan when Storm used what looked to be a pair of brass knuckles on Abyss to get the pin.
- The Motor City Machineguns asked Mick Foley to overturn the decision from the Feast or Fired match, which would give them Lethal's Tag Team Title shot. However, when Shelley and Sabin went to the ring to wait on Foley's decision, TNA newcomer Suicide made his surprise debut and attacked the Machineguns!
- Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle defeated "The War Machine" Rhino (with Mick Foley serving as special enforcer) after Al Snow made a surprise appearance to distract Mick Foley! With Foley's back turned, Angle nailed Rhino with a chair and hit the Olympic Slam to get the pin. Afterwards, Angle told Foley he's demanding his rematch with Jarrett at "Genesis", and he's coming to kick Foley's ass after he's done with Jarrett!
- The Main Event Mafia defeated TNA Frontline in the featured bout, with Sting's TNA World Heavyweight Championship on the line. Samoa Joe was on the verge of defeating Sting when Kevin Nash interfered and hit Joe with a low blow, allowing Sting to hit the Scorpion Deathdrop for the win!

KNOCKOUTS MATCH The Beautiful People & Sharmel vs. ODB, Taylor Wilde & Roxxi
Highlights aired from last week's show of the Main Event Mafia beating up Christian Cage. Outside the building, Kurt Angle told Jeremy Borash that the Main Event Mafia would give Christian Cage a proper burial.
Mike Tenay and Don West introduced the show and hyped Kurt Angle and Kevin Nash vs Matt Morgan and Abyss match. Two men wearing suits wheeled a casket to the ring. Additional highlights of the Mafia's attack on Christian aired as the Mafia (including Sting, who wasn't there for the attack) walked to the ring for a promo. Angle reiterated that they were there to give Christian a proper burial.
Angle said Christian refused to make a commitment to the Main Event Mafia and TNA as a company. He said their attack on Christian should serve as a warning to anyone who thought about crossing them. Angle asked if anyone had final words to say about The Instant Classic. Rhino's music played and he walked onto the stage with a mic in hand.
Rhino said Angle should have addressed any issue he had with Christian one-on-one. He complained that the group jumped his friend. Nash said no one in the ring cared what Rhino thinks. Rhino said he's a veteran and demanded respect. Nash said they'll show respect to people who show respect to them.
Rhino said the Mafia are egomaniacs. He said he looks at the Mafia and sees a group of guys who are afraid to lose their spots and their big contracts. Rhino said Booker T is the "biggest bitch of them all". Booker said Rhino has balls the size of his chihuahua and challenged him to come to the ring. Rhino took him up on the offer.
The Main Event Mafia stomped Rhino and he bladed quickly. A shot aired of Jeff Jarrett and Mick Foley watching it all play out on a backstage monitor. The Mafia members placed Rhino inside the casket, then closed the casket.
Backstage, Mick Foley said he was around for DX and Jeff Jarrett was around for the nWo, but he's never seen anything like it. Jarrett said he hasn't accepted Angle's challenge despite Angle's claims to the contrary. Jeff said he and Foley were "taking our house back tonight".
Backstage, Lauren interviewed AJ Styles while the other TNA originals stood behind him in the locker room. He wished Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed luck. The Motorcity Machine Guns walked in the room and joked around about being late because they were watching the second season of Dexter and playing Grand Theft Auto. Samoa Joe got pissed and slammed Alex Shelley against a locker. Styles invited to the ring to settle it the old fashioned way.
Foley walked into the room and told Joe and Styles that they don't have the authority to matches in TNA, but he does. He booked the Styles and Joe vs Motorcity Machine Guns for later in the show.
Consequences Creed and "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal defeated Tanahashi and "The Guru" Sonjay Dutt (with SoCal Val) in 2:25. Val blew a kiss to Lethal, who lunged at her only to be attacked from behind by Sonjay. Later, Creed hit the TKO on Sonjay and scored the clean pin.
Backstage, The Beautiful People sat on thrones while Kip James laid on a pillow in front of them. They took shots at Sojourner Bolt's name to hype their tag match for later in the show. Kip did the crotch chop, but it was actually digitized out.
Tenay hyped the return of "Feast or Fired". It's the match with multiple briefcases that contain title shot contracts or a pink slip.
Backstage, Jim Cornette told the spaz referee guy that he had a nice career in Canada and Puerto Rico, but he has to come to grips that it's over. He ordered the referee to hand the X Division Title belt back to Sheik Abdul Bashir. The referee obliged. Cornette warned him that he'd be fired if he laid his hand on another wrestler. He warned him not to go over his head to Mick Foley or Jeff Jarrett because he still has some stroke in the company. Cornette booked Eric Young in a match against Booker T for the TNA Legends Title.
The Beautiful People Angelina Love and Velvet Sky (with Cute Kip) defeated Sojourner Bolt and Christy Hemme in 3:15. The heels worked over Bolt early. Hemme took the hot tag and cleaned house. She even debuted her version of Trish Stratus's Matrix move. However, Kip distracted Hemme, which enabled Love to hit her finisher for the win.
A Rough Cuts segment with Homicide aired. Steve "Monsta" Mack and other friends appeared. He told a story about wrestling his fifth match with a tampon stuck inside a bullet hole with a piece of duct tape covering it.
ODB interviewed Sharmell on the set of her new talk show, which featured a beat up desk, lawn chairs, and beer bottles. ODB mocked Sharmell's name. She said she was named after her grandmother. Sharmell said the Main Event Mafia made TNA. She said the "young boys" need to start showing respect, just as ODB needed to start respecting her. They bickered until ODB challenged Sharmell to a match. She accepted. ODB told her to have Booker stop by her house because he left his shoes by her bed.
Backstage, Jeremy Borash interviewed the Mafia again. Angle said Abyss and Morgan were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Angle offered two pay-per-view main event match ideas: Angle vs Jarrett, and the winner of the Guns vs Joe and Styles match with two partners of their choosing against Sting, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash, and Booker T in an eight-man tag main event.
A video recapped the Scott Steiner and Petey Williams storyline. At ringside, the announcers said Petey will be sidelined indefinitely after the attack last week.
"Samoan Submission Machime" Samoa Joe and "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles defeated Motorcity Machine Guns in 7:15. The Guns attacked Joe and Styles from behind to start the match. Hot action to start with Styles hitting a flip dive over the top rope onto the Guns at ringside, but they cut to a commercial break less than a minute into the match.
After some really good, competitive action, Joe clotheslined Chris Sabin and then Styles hit the Styles Clash on Alex Shelley for the clean win. After the match, Angle, Booker, and Nash attacked Joe and Styles while Sting and Steiner stood at ringside in their suits. Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed ran out to help, but they were quickly beaten down by the three Mafia members.
Steiner eventually entered the ring to help while Sting just watched from ringside as his stablemates left the young guy lying. "Oh, this is hard to watch," Don West said.
Backstage, Raisha Saeed asked Traci Brooks if she found competitor for Awesome Kong, who was standing by with Rhaka Khan. Saeed said Kong would attack a civilian since she didn't have better competition.
Lauren was about to interview the young guys when the Machine Guns came tumbling into the picture. Rhino followed them with a heavily bandaged head with blood still covering his face. He tried to rally the troops with a passionate promo. He mentioned his past in ECW and said his concern now is TNA. Rhino put over Joe and Styles and then asked the Guns if they know what it's like to fight alongside men who will bleed and fight for what they believe in.
Booker T (with Sharmell) pinned Eric Young to retain the TNA Legends Title in 5:10. Young hit the Death Valley Driver for a nice nearfall. Moments later, Booker came back with an axe kick and scored the clean pin. Afterward, ODB ran out and checked on Young, which led to more bickering between the "One Dirty Bitch" and Sharmell.
Backstage, Foley said he had something that wasn't going to please Angle. Jarrett said he'd watch from backstage and would have his back if Kurt laid a hand on him.
Backstage, Borash interviewed Team 3D. Devon did the bulk of the talking and cut a promo on Beer Money. Brother Ray threw up his hands and said, "Obama wins and you've been doing more talking." Devon raised his fist in the air and said, "Oh, yes, my brother." Ray continued the promo and concluded by telling Beer Money to take the advice of the Mafia. "Learn some frickin' respect," he said.
Lauren interviewed Herme Sadler, who is debuting Hermie's Hotseat, a new interview show on the TNA website. Awesome Kong and her crew came up from behind. Hermie invited her to be his guest on the show, but she attacked him.
Kevin Nash and Kurt Angle defeated Matt Morgan and Abyss in 10:30. The show cut to commercial after two minutes and 30 seconds and back and forth action. After the break, Morgan and Nash stared each other down and traded punches. Morgan was getting the better of the slugfest, but Angle entered the ring and clipped Morgan's knees from behind.
At 9:00, Beer Money and Jackie walked to ringside as the babyface team controlled the action in the ring. Abyss headed to ringside and punched Storm and Roode. He brought Angle back to the ring with him, but Storm recovered and struck Abyss with a beer bottle while the referee was distracted. Nash hit the big boot on Abyss and scored the pin.
Foley walked to the ring and said he accepted the Main Event Mafia members as a big part of wrestling's past, which he considers himself part of. He said he may not agree with them, but they might be the greatest collection of stars and champions ever assembled inside the ring.
Foley said he recognizes that the Mafia might be the past, present, and perhaps even the future of TNA. He said his intention has always been to level the playing field for the TNA originals, not to play favorites. He said he has come to accept that Final Resolution could be their chance for final restitution.
Mick announced two main event matches for Final Resolution. He announced Booker T, Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner, and Sting vs Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, and two partners of their choosing. If the Mafia wins the match, Sting keeps his title. If the TNA originals win, the new TNA Champion will be AJ Styles.
Foley called for a drumroll from the live crowd and then announced Kurt Angle vs Rhino. Angle walked to the ring and demanded to know why Jeff Jarrett wouldn't face him. Angle said that if he can't have Jarrett, he wants Foley in a match. Angle slapped Foley. Jarrett's music played and he walked to the ring with a mic in hand.
Jarrett said he's the founder of TNA and therefore they are going to play by his rules, not Kurt's rules. Jarrett said he swore on his life that he wouldn't let Angle talk him into wrestling again. He said he wouldn't let Angle destroy what he's built from the ground up. "As bad as you want me in this ring, I want you out of my stinkin' company even worse," Jarrett said.
Jarrett said he can't fire Angle because of a clause in his contract. However, he said he could make him an offer he can't refuse. Jarrett said that if Angle beats Rhino, he'll face Jarrett. If Rhino wins, Angle is out of TNA for good. Jarrett offered his hand to shake on the deal. Angle slapped him. Jarrett turned around, smiled, and pointed behind Angle. Kurt turned around and was greeted with a gore from Rhino.
TNA continues the road to the December 7 "Final Resolution" PPV

Jim Cornette Vows To Break Vince McMahon by Patrick Lennon
If you're taking on the big boys in wrestling, you need brains as well as brawn.
Jim Cornette is one of the most prolific creative minds in the wrestling industry, as well as being a right old wheeze on screen.
His pedigree in promotion, booking and experience on camera is matched by very few people in the industry at large.
Cornette is probably most famous with the public for his managerial roles on screen with the Midnight Express and Yokozuna and more recently for laying some flesh on a young Santino Marella when in charge of OVW, then WWE Developmental.
For those who don't know, Marella had broken character on TV and laughed at Boogeyman. Cornette tells me he'd do it again in an instant.
A reputation as an abrasive fellow may well be justified, but his passion for the business is never in question. Cornette refuses to fly yet Fighting Talk caught up with him in Chicago straight after Bound For Glory, which is not a short drive from his Kentucky home.
An elated Cornette greeted me backstage and lived up to his reputation for making Mick Foley look like Giorgio Armani, dressed as he was in T-shirt and tracksuit bottoms.
Cornette was taken aback when FT asked him about the deposition of Samoa Joe as Champion (he had just lost out to Sting) and tells me they didn't do anything wrong.
He said: "I don't think so. I simply don't think so. "I'm a fan of the young guys, the Samoa Joes, the AJ Styles, and the Beer Moneys.
"I think that they keep the veterans on their toes. When was the last time you saw Sting take an ass-whippin' like that?
"He was whipped across Texas, or he was going to the electric chair, and that's what Joe did. I love to watch people fight."
TNA are rightly celebrating their fourth annual showpiece as their best PPV offering to date. Cornette on the whole agreed with that assessment and argued that there is still room for improvement.
He tells me: "I think there was a lot of action tonight. I'm old-fashioned, I don't like to see so many weapons.
"I like people to beat each other up with their bare hands so I think the PPV that TNA did with the two guys in the MMA match was great but I think this was great too. Both were very different."
Cornette has a good idea of what it takes in promotion. Although his own Smokey Mountain Wrestling was a shortlived experiment in the Nineties, it provided invaluable assistance to a few big names on top of the pile today.
Ask Chris Jericho what he learned from Cornette. Building a viable alternative to WWE has been the TNA quest and although fans may be struggling to find the money to indulge their grapple habits, Cornette believes his current employers are moving in the right direction.
He says: "Everyone has their own particular taste and mine would be different to everybody else. TNA has the young talent, TNA has the alternative product, they are breaking a monopoly, a trust that's been together in wrestling a long time - that if it's not WWE, then it's not major league.
"Well TNA proved tonight, as they've proved every time they go on national television, every time they go on PPV, that there are two major leagues now."
FT believes the young TNA stalwarts should feature heavily at the head of the card if it is to look like an alternative.
Cornette gave me his pick of the bunch, and Champion elect AJ Styles is among them.
He added: "Beer Money - Robert Roode and James Storm - are the next ones to watch, plus Matt Morgan. He's incredible. "Beer Money remind me of Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson. I'd love for the Midnight Express to be in their prime so we could have a match with them."
TNA are blessed with the man's talent, that much is certain.
Before he darted back to the hotel, he issued his battle cry: "Have you seen the stock market? Vince is not a billionaire any more! He may not even be a millionaire by the time this thing's over! I will sacrifice every penny I've got and cut my neighbour's lawn to see Vince McMahon a broken man laying in the gutter!"
There are several major news items to report from the live HD "iMPACT!" broadcast on SpikeTV:
- The big announcement to come from the event is that wrestling legend Mick Foley is the new Executive Shareholder of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling after striking a deal with TNA founder Jeff Jarrett! What does this mean for the face of TNA Wrestling? How will Foley change TNA in his new role with the promotion? Foley and Jarrett came out to make the announcement, but were interrupted by TNA's newest alliance of The Main Event Mafia. Kurt Angle headbutted Foley, but after taking the punishment, Foley dropped the bomb on his new role and told Angle "You just headbutted your boss!". To end the broadcast, Foley had some more parting shots for Angle, telling him he was free to work for TNA - or not! Foley asked Angle if he wanted to be a part of history with TNA - or BE history!
- The other huge news to come out of the broadcast is the major alliance of TNA World Heavyweight Champion Sting, Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash and Booker T as "The Main Event Mafia"! In the battle of respect, will anyone be able to stop what looks to be the greatest collection of superstars of the past decade? It looks like young lions such as Samoa Joe and AJ Styles are now at a major disadvantage.
- Speaking of Booker T, he unveiled the newest title in TNA Wrestling - "The Legends Championship". According to Booker, he is introducing the gold as his own personal title, as it signifies the fanfare that is his and that he deserves (according to Booker!). After the unveiling, Christian Cage came out to get in Booker's face and challenge him for the title at "Turning Point". However, Booker added a stipulation - if he beats Cage, Cage must join the alliance of Sting, Angle, Nash and Booker! Cage didn't respond - but just smiled and walked off! According to sources, Cage has promised to answer the open challenge next Thursday on "iMPACT!"
- In the main event of the broadcast, the team of TNA World Heavyweight Champion Sting and Kevin Nash defeated Samoa Joe and AJ Styles when Nash beat his former friend in Samoa Joe after smashing him with the TNA World Heavyweight Championship! After the bout, The Main Event Mafia continued to punish Joe and Styles and left them bloody in the ring.
- Awesome Kong regained the TNA Knockout Women's Championship when she defeated Taylor Wilde on the live broadcast
- Christy Hemme defeated Velvet Sky of The Beautiful People in Knockouts action
- Sheik Abdul Bashir successfully defended the X Division Championship against number-one contender "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal. Later in the broadcast, Bashir and "The War Machine" Rhino got into an altercation when Rhino told Bashir he didn't care for his anti-US rants. As a result, Bashir attacked Rhino and left him laying after choking him out!
- TNA World Tag Team Champions Beer Money, Inc. won the Text-Off Gauntlet, last beating Team 3D to claim the bout.
- Kurt Angle once again called out TNA founder Jeff Jarrett and challenged him to a fight, but Jarrett told Angle there was already a locker room full of superstars that wanted to fight him - as behind Angle was Abyss, who attacked the Olympian! Will Angle continue his mission to get Jarrett to agree to a rematch?
On Thursday night, it will be one of the biggest nights in TNA "iMPACT!" history as we will be live from Las Vegas with the first HD broadcast on SpikeTV!

The Pay-Per-View kicks off with the TNA X Division Championship as "Maple Leaf Muscle" Petey Williams defended the gold against Kaz. Williams was wearing a protective face mask due to a recent injury he sustained. Rhaka Khan attempted to interfere, but it was all a cover for "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner to come down with a steel pipe. Steiner got the pipe to Williams, who cracked it over Kaz's skull and bloodied him. Williams hit the Canadian Destroyer on Kaz for the win to successfully defend the title.
After the bout, Steiner got on the microphone to talk trash to Kaz, but the monster Abyss made his surprise return and hit the Black Hole Slam on Steiner, Williams and Rhaka Khan! Abyss then picked up Kaz on his shoulders and carried him to the back.
Eric Young interrupted Mike and Don at the commentary table, claiming that Elvis was coming to the event!
JB interviewed Kevin Nash about his role as the enforcer for the King Of The Mountain match. Nash claimed Joe's reign as champion was an investment Nash couldn't afford to lose.
The Knockouts team of Gail Kim, ODB and Roxxi defeated The Beautiful People and their new bodyguard Moose when ODB beat Moose.
Lauren interviewed Rhino, who talked about how the past year was so tough for him, but his goal was to walk out World Champion.
In a clash of two of the best tag teams in the sport today, TNA World Tag Team Champions The Latin American Xchange defeated Team 3D to retain the gold. In the end, as Team 3D was getting ready to hit the 3D finisher on Hernandez, Homicide snuck up behind Brother Ray and rolled him up with a small package for the win!
JB interviewed Robert Roode, who talked about winning the King Of The Mountain match and cementing himself among the elite in TNA.
Next up, TNA Women's Champion Awesome Kong made her open challenge, which was once again answered by a fan in the crowd. After Kong decimated that challenger, she wanted another victim. Minutes later, she annihilated that person as well. As Kong was about to leave, she was interrupted by Eric Young, who announced that Elvis was here! This "Elvis" danced his way to the ring - where he was met by Awesome Kong! Kong destroyed Elvis and finally left the arena!
Lauren interviewed Christian Cage about his chances in the main event tonight and regaining the World Championship.
Next up was the wedding with Jay Lethal and SoCal Val, also featuring Sonjay Dutt, American Idol star Ace Young, plus wrestling legends Koko B. Ware, Kamala, Jake "The Snake" Roberts and George "The Animal" Steele. However, Sonjay Dutt ruined the wedding - and his friendship with Jay Lethal - when he begged Val to marry him instead. Dutt and Lethal got into an argument, with Dutt eventually blindsiding Lethal and attacking him! Before Dutt could inflict any more damage the wrestling legends hit the ring to chase him away!
Backstage, JB interviewed Booker T about his chances in the King Of the Mountain match.
In the first of the two main-event matches, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles defeated Kurt Angle thanks to Karen Angle! It looked like Karen was actually on Kurt's side and was going to slide a chair into him, but she yanked it away at the last moment - allowing AJ to make a comeback and beat Kurt with the Styles Clash! After the bout, Kurt snapped and demolished AJ With a chair. Fearful for her well-being, Karen left the ring - allowing Kurt and Tomko (who tried to interfere earlier) the opportunity to destroy The Phenomenal One. Angle put AJ in the Ankle Lock submission and refused to let go until referees and security pulled him off AJ.
In the main event King Of The Mountain match, Samoa Joe made history by becoming the first defending TNA World Heavyweight Champion to win the ladder match and retain the gold! However, the win came with controversy, as Booker T looked to have it won - but it was the special enforcer Kevin Nash that cost Booker his chance at the win!
