ST. LOUIS - Temperatures are seriously scorching with just six days left until the hottest happening this side of WrestleMania. That's right, we're talkin' SummerSlam. In the run-up to the boiling brawl, Raw celebrity guest host Freddie Prinze Jr., turned up the oven and ripped off the knob.
WWE Champion Randy Orton & John Cena def. Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show
The summer humidity outside may have hung heavy in the Missouri air, but the tension inside was almost thick enough to choke on. As Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show sized up their opponents, WWE Champion Randy Orton & John Cena, The Viper and Cena were busy sizing up each other. And who could blame them?
Although Cena and Orton harbored obvious distrust, the WWE Universe voiced their opinion on WWE e-Vote, affirming that they felt the two would still manage to squeeze out a victory.
To add to the intrigue, Prinze Jr., bravely returned to establish the tag team bout as a Lumberjack Match with the ring surrounded by his handpicked Superstars, all with a suspicious eye on Orton.
Not only do Orton and Cena have a laundry list of complaints about one another, they're set to square off in six days at SummerSlam. With a weary eye on their "partner," both Orton and Cena tried to fend off the sizable challenge of their tag team tormentors. In the end, it was Cena who captured the victory for his team by pinning Jericho. True to form, however, The Viper RKO'd his partner to show his gratitude. As if to prove his mettle, Cena not only rebounded, he also tossed both Jericho and Big Show out of the ring.
Floyd "Money" Mayweather to host next week's Raw
The WWE Universe will remember Floyd "Money" Mayweather as the man who bloodied Big Show's nose and defeated The World's Largest Athlete at WrestleMania XXIV. Now they'll also know him as Raw's celebrity guest host one day after SummerSlam. Tune in Monday night to watch the boxing great take control.
Hornswoggle def. Chavo Guerrero
Oh, Chavo. Losing to a 4-foot-4-inch leprechaun seems to be taking its toll. This week, Guerrero found himself "facing" Hornswoggle, this time in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. The sly 'Swoggle fled the ring early, heading toward the locker room area of the Scottrade Center. With Chavo in pursuit, Hornswoggle locked himself in a room. When Chavo finally opened the door, a can of paint swung down, knocking him unconscious, enabling Hornswoggle to score the victory. When he finally came to, he discovered that 'Swoggle wasn't to blame. Actually, the culprit appeared to be Prinze's pal, Macaulay Culkin!
MVP def. Jack Swagger by disqualification
Montel Vontavious Porter; the name alone seems like a lot to handle. And now Jack Swagger finds himself forced to handle more than just a name. After weeks of trading barbs, last week "The All-American American" underhandedly attacked MVP after his match against Chris Masters. This week, however, The Franchise Playa came prepared. MVP put in a solid effort against Swagger until the arrogant American refused to yield to the referee after displaying relentless aggression to get disqualified.
Divas Champion Mickie James def. Gail Kim
Having teamed with Divas Champion Mickie James just two weeks prior, Gail Kim found herself facing down the sporty stunner for the title. While Kim's efforts were impressive as usual, Mickie proved too powerful for the No. 1 contender and emerged with her title intact.
DX returned to Raw; The Legacy attacked
After months of seclusion, Shawn Michaels finally made his climactic return to D-Generation X and Monday Night Raw, much to the thrill of the WWE Universe. Any celebration, however, would prove short-lived. As Michaels and partner Triple H addressed the crowd, their SummerSlam opponents, The Legacy, attacked DX from behind. Then it was Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase's turn at the microphone. They informed the stunned crowd that yes, they ARE ready.
The Miz def. Evan Bourne
The Miz swears up and down that he's, well, awesome! And now, he's out to prove it. After getting banned from Raw two weeks ago, the self-important Superstar earned his way back on the program by defeating Eugene in a WWE Contract-on-a-Pole Match. Now, he claims he will become United States Champion and started by facing off against Evan Bourne. Despite the unpredictable nature of "Air" Bourne, Miz grounded the high-flyer for the victory.
United States Champion Kofi Kingston def. Carlito
Before succumbing to Randy Orton's rage, Raw celebrity guest host Freddie Prinze Jr., arranged for United States Champion Kofi Kingston to defend his title against Carlito. The Caribbean quarrel pitted the jumping Jamaican against a Superstar who lately has shown little respect for anything or anyone, even his brother. A crowd favorite, Kingston managed to overcome the Boriqua Brother to avoid any trouble in paradise.
Raw celebrity guest host Freddie Prinze Jr., refused WWE Champion Randy Orton's demand, suffered attack
As the star of such movies as I Know What You Did Last Summer and She's All That as well as the upcoming season of Fox's 24, Prinze greeted the enthusiastic crowd in the Scottrade Center and fielded an impromptu acting audition from Santino Marella before being confronted by WWE Champion Randy Orton. The Viper appeared more than a little ticked at the prospect of having to pair with SummerSlam opponent John Cena against Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show and not the least bit shy about letting Prinze Jr. know it.
The actor and lifelong WWE fan, however, refused to back down, which seemed only to provoke the erratic Orton and prompted an attack that left Prinze Jr., immobile on the canvas. The actor was subsequently taken to a local medical facility for observation.

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman was hanging out in Miami, Florida this past week with TNA's Jeremy Borash. Apparently Rodman was asking about coming in to work for TNA like Danny Bonaduce did. Rodman was the winner of Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling and worked for WCW in the past as a member of the nWo with his friend Hogan. His first wrestling match was at the July 1997 WCW Bash at the Beach where he teamed with Hogan in a loss to Lex Luger and The Giant (now known as Big Show in WWE).

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The entire landscape of WWE changed at Backlash, with three new World Champions, including Raw's Randy Orton, who won the WWE Championship in a Six-Man Tag Team Match. Though Batista was on the losing end of that conflict, he earned the right to challenge The Legend Killer for the WWE Title at Judgment Day after defeating Big Show on Raw, courtesy of a distraction by John Cena.Batista def. Big Show by count-out in a No. 1 Contender's MatchPrior to the night's final match, General Manager Vickie Guerrero announced that on the following Raw, WWE Champion Randy Orton would face Shane McMahon. Next, the main event began with two massive competitors squaring off for the right to face WWE Champion Randy Orton at Judgment Day. Batista, eager to exact revenge on The Legend Killer for putting him out of commission for months courtesy of a brutal punt, took on Big Show, who had gained esteem in the eyes of Raw's General Manager, Vickie Guerrero, by attacking John Cena as part of their newfound professional relationship, allowing her husband Edge to secure the World Heavyweight Title at Backlash.Batista might be used to overpowering his opponents in the ring, but he didn't have that option against his opponent, The World's Largest Athlete. However, during the match another advantage for The Animal reared its head as an injured Cena staggered out to the stage. The former World Heavyweight Champion's presence was enough to distract Big Show, luring him from the ring and causing The World's Largest Athlete to get counted out. When Big Show made it back to the ring, he was on the receiving end of a spear, delivered by the victorious Batista.Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo def. Jamie Noble & Chavo GuerreroAs holders of the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship, brothers Carlito & Primo can defend their titles on any WWE brand. However, as of the 2009 WWE Draft, both Superstars are officially members of the Raw brand. On Monday Night the Puerto Rican Superstars took on Jamie Noble & Chavo Guerrero, two athletes with considerable in-ring experience between them. But that experience wasn't enough to overwhelm the sibling synergy exhibited by Carlito & Primo, who soundly defeated their opponents. The Miz def. John Cena by forfeitThe Miz, a recent Draftee, also had his first match as a Raw Superstar. Proclaiming himself a "television icon," the pompous Superstar announced to the WWE Universe that he planned to make an impact by challenging one of the brand's most dominant ring warriors, John Cena. As the former World Heavyweight Champion's music played, the fans in attendance waited in anticipation, but Cena was nowhere to be seen – presumably a result of the brutal Last Man Standing Match he took part in at Backlash. The self-proclaimed "future World Champion" announced that he had won the match as a result of a forfeit, and demanded that Lilian Garcia verify that fact. When she refused, The Miz made the formal announcement himself.WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. United States Champion MVP ended in a no-contestIf he hoped to prove himself as a top player on Raw, U.S. Champion MVP certainly succeeded as he went toe-to-toe with WWE Champion Randy Orton in a hard-fought match, retaliating "The Viper's" every strike. As The Ballin' Superstar and The Legend Killer continued to fight back and forth, each struggling to gain the upper hand, Shane McMahon rushed to the ring and assaulted "The Viper" with a kendo stick. As Orton's Legacy, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, rushed to their leader's aid, Shane O'Mac dropped a flying elbow on his nemesis, and then escaped into the crowd, leaving the outcome of the match in question.Matt Hardy def. GoldustJust one day after one of the most brutal matches of his career, Matt Hardy had to face Goldust in the ring on Raw. Suffering from a broken hand sustained during an "I Quit" Match against his brother Jeff, Hardy entered the ring sporting a hard cast. Prior to the match, Hardy reasoned that with his injury, he had no choice but to quit during his Backlash match against his brother, but that didn't make him a quitter. When the match began, the two competitors circled one another cautiously before Hardy slid out of the ring in an attempt to avoid the bizarre Goldust. The bitter Superstar then re-entered the ring, clobbering his opponent with his cast and covering him for a quick pin.Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Brie Bella & "Santina" Marella def. Divas Champion Maryse, Beth Phoenix, Rosa Mendes & Jillian HallRaw was also host to an Eight-Diva Tag Team Match that saw Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Brie Bella & Miss WrestleMania "Santina" Marella take on the team of Divas Champion Maryse, Beth Phoenix, Rosa Mendes & Jillian Hall. During the match, Brie attempted to utilize a trick she had used to great success while on SmackDown, going underneath the ring to switch places with her twin sister Nikki. Soon after disappearing, however, both of the Bellas emerged, along with a grinning Hornswoggle. The mischievous leprechaun sprang out and chased Rosa Mendes from ringside, giving "Santina" just the opening she needed to roll-up Jillian, securing a victory for her team. As the winning Divas and Hornswoggle celebrated, the diminutive Superstar was subjected to a horrifying glance up Santina's skirt.Kofi Kingston def. The Brian KendrickIn the first match of the night, the highly athletic Kofi Kingston was to face off against one of the exciting new Superstars Raw received in the Draft: The Brian Kendrick. After being introduced by Lilian Garcia, the leather jacket-bedecked Superstar cornered the announcer and clarified that he should be referred to as "The Brian Kendrick." Though Kendrick held his own, it was the controlled frenzy of Kingston that proved dominant, allowing The Jamaican Superstar to pick up the win.Two matches for Raw set by Vickie Guerrero: Batista vs. Big Show to determine the No. 1 contender to the WWE Title and WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. MVPRaw's General Manager Vickie Guerrero opened the night's show by celebrating two of WWE's newest champions: Her husband, World Heavyweight Champion Edge, and WWE Champion Randy Orton, both of whom won their titles the night before at Backlash. Raw's World Champion, "The Viper" then emerged, flanked by his Legacy, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase. In the midst of congratulating Orton, the Raw GM then announced that his first title defense would take place at Judgment Day against the winner of a No. 1 Contender's Match between Batista and Big Show, to take place later in the evening. As Orton finished berating the WWE Universe, he turned his sights on the Raw locker room, declaring that every Superstar, regardless of tenure, answers to him. But before he could finish his rant, The Legend Killer was interrupted by United States Champion MVP. Eager to make a name for himself on his new brand, The Ballin' Superstar announced that as U.S. Champion, he doesn't answer to anyone. After being put on notice by MVP, Orton had a brief word with Vickie Guerrero, who went on to make a second huge Raw match, pitting The Franchise Playa against "The Viper" in a non-title contest.Source: WWE.com

HOUSTON – It was just one day after the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, and only a week before everything changes in the 2009 WWE Draft, but the Superstars of WWE were already looking toward Backlash on Monday Night Raw. As the show received its new permanent General Manager, Vickie Guerrero, two matches were set for the upcoming pay-per-view. More shocking however, was the return of Batista, who after rushing to the aide of Mr. McMahon, WWE Champion Triple H & Shane McMahon, was awarded the WWE Chairman's spot in their Six-Man Tag Team Match against Randy Orton & The Legacy.Randy Orton began to brutalize Mr. McMahon but was interrupted by WWE Champion Triple H, Shane McMahon and the returning Batista, who will take Mr. McMahon's place at BacklashIn the night's main event, Randy Orton attempted to prove his point about Mr. McMahon's in-ring abilities. In the midst of putting a hurting on the WWE Chairman, he was interrupted by McMahon's son, Shane, who attacked The Legend Killer. But Orton had help of his own waiting in the wings in the form of Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, who rushed to their leader's aid, teaming up on Shane O'Mac. WWE Champion Triple H then emerged, but he too fell victim to the combined might of The Legacy. As Orton and his cohorts pummeled The Game, they were shocked to find out there was more opposition that they hadn't counted on: The returning Batista. The Animal stormed down the entrance ramp, evening the odds by chasing Orton & DiBiase from the ring and laying out Rhodes with a Batista Bomb. As the WWE Chairman recovered, he announced that Batista would be taking his place in the Six-Man Tag Team Match at Backlash.Miss WrestleMania Santina Marella def. Beth PhoenixRaw was graced with an appearance of the newly honored Miss WrestleMania, Santino Marella's twin sister, "Santina." In the midst of thanking the WWE Universe, she was interrupted by Beth Phoenix. The Glamazon was furious about Santina dumping her out of the 25-Diva Battle Royal and challenged her to a match. Santina went on to prove why she holds the title of Miss WrestleMania by pinning Beth for the win.Vickie Guerrero announced that she is the new permanent General Manager of Raw and that John Cena will defend the World Heavyweight Title against Edge in a Last Man Standing Match at BacklashThough she has been acting as both SmackDown General Manager and interim General Manager of Raw in recent weeks, Vickie Guerrero announced that WWE's Board of Director's had told her that she would have to choose one show to run. Promising to bring her own unique vision to the program, Guerrero revealed that she would be staying on Raw.As her first act as the show's permanent General Manager, she placed World Heavyweight Champion John Cena into a Last Man Standing Match against her husband Edge at Backlash with the title on the line. The Raw GM also added a stipulation to the Six-Man Tag Team Match announced earlier in the night, placing the WWE Championship on the line. She clarified that if anyone on Triple H's team wins, he will retain the title, but if Orton or The Legacy taste victory, then the WWE Title will go to The Legend Killer.World Heavyweight Champion John Cena, Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy, CM Punk, & Ricky Steamboat def. Edge, Big Show, Chris Jericho, Matt Hardy & KaneMany of the Superstars who just competed on The Grandest Stage of Them All took part in a WrestleMania All-Star Tag Team Match on Raw that featured new World Heavyweight Champion John Cena, new Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio and new Mr. Money in the Bank CM Punk on the same powerful team. All that championship gold didn't slow them down at all though, as The Master of the 619 hit Edge and Chris Jericho with a double 619 to pick up the win.Women's Champion Melina, Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, Layla & Jillian def. Divas Champion Maryse, Maria, Eve, Gail Kim, & NatalyaJust one day after they all competed in a massive 25-Diva Battle Royal, five Divas from Raw took on five of their counterparts from SmackDown in tag team action. The ladies of Raw successfully defended their home turf as Mickie James pinned Natalya for the win.WWE Unified Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo def. The Miz & John Morrison in a Lumberjack MatchAt the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania brothers Carlito & Primo made history by unifying the WWE and World Tag Team Titles with their defeat of The Miz & John Morrison in a Lumberjack Match. On Raw the following night, the "Dirt Sheet" duo had a chance to regain Tag Team gold in another Lumberjack Match against the brothers from Puerto Rico. Unfortunately for the self-proclaimed "chick magnet" & The Shaman of Sexy, they must return to ECW empty-handed after another defeat at the hands of the WWE Unified Tag Team Champions.Mr. McMahon set a Six-Man Tag Team Match for Backlash and pitted himself against Randy Orton for Raw's main eventRandy Orton opened Raw, bitter over his loss to WWE Champion Triple H the night before at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania. Before he could get further into his threats against The Game and the entire McMahon family however, he was interrupted by the WWE Chairman himself. Mr. McMahon told the venomous Superstar that he wouldn't be getting a rematch, but that he would get to face Triple H again at Backlash, only in a Six-Man Tag Team Match, featuring Triple H, Mr. McMahon & Shane McMahon vs. Randy Orton & The Legacy. The insolent Superstar then began to insult his employer for both hiding behind his family and being too old to compete on his own. Not one to stand down from a challenge, Mr. McMahon placed himself into the night's main event against Orton.Source: WWE.com

Undertaker def. Shawn MichaelsStreaks are made to be broken.Whoever conjured up that old cliché obviously knew nothing of Undertaker. After an epic battle pitting shadow against light, The Demon from Death Valley was finally able to bury the soul of “Mr. WrestleMania,” Shawn Michaels. A triumph of darkness, the victory propels Undertaker’s WrestleMania winning streak to an unprecedented 17-0.As more than 70,000 sets of eyes focused on the ring inside Houston’s Reliant Stadium, vendors twiddled their thumbs and bathroom breaks were put on hold during the classic confrontation that had the international crowd fixed to their seats.Having never defeated HBK, Undertaker set a deliberate and destructive pace, which seemed to pay dividends early in the match. Then again, Michaels enjoys quite a reputation for stamina and managed to recapture the momentum before moving outside the ring. That’s when The Deadman leaped over the top rope, taking aim at HBK. But just as Undertaker was about to land atop Michaels with the full force of his nearly 300 pound frame, HBK darted aside and pulled a cameraman into Undertaker’s path. After a near count-out, The Phenom dragged himself back into the ring, and the legendary Superstars traded some of the most lethal maneuvers in their arsenal. In the end, though, Undertaker would administer a second and final Tombstone to bury Michaels and secure his place in the annals of WWE history.Though he lost, Michaels is to be commended for his efforts, never flinching from the daunting task before him. Unlike many of his predecessors, Michaels seemed unafraid to face The Phenom on WWE’s grandest stage, girded by both devotion and confidence. For his part, Undertaker never once lost sight of his goal: Keeping his WrestleMania record unblemished. Now, in light of his monumental victory, Undertaker can rest – perhaps not “in peace” – but at least until he’s called on to defend The Streak at next year’s WrestleMania.Matt Hardy def. Jeff Hardy (Extreme Rules Match)Matt Hardy’s mission to conquer his brother Jeff was completed at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, in a dream match for the WWE Universe that was unquestionably a nightmare scenario for the Hardy family.Poised to make another extraordinary WrestleMania moment at the expense of his older brother, Jeff’s attempted 16-foot ladder leap resulted in his crash, burn and Extreme Rules Match defeat. In WWE.com’s weeklong “Dueling Diaries” feature that followed both rival siblings, Matt claimed that Jeff’s risk-taking would be his undoing. And, tonight at WrestleMania, these words resonated truth.Resembling a brothers’ quarrel on their trampoline years back in Cameron, N.C., but with lethal and hazardous objects strewn about, the Hardys fought vehemently without any restrictions or disqualifications. The Charismatic Enigma returned the steel chair crack across his brother’s skull from the Royal Rumble, the fateful night in which Matt cost Jeff the WWE Championship. Jeff also drove Matt’s sandwiched body through two tables – after the purple-faced warrior propelled his body from the top rope onto the structure to the Reliant Stadium floor. But, this day would be Matt Hardy’s personal evolution and time to unlock his true destiny, as signified by the key emblazoned on his tights. The enigmatic Superstar found momentum after a torrent of innovative attacks on his brethren. Then, in front of more than 70,000 in attendance, Jeff ascended the rungs of a ladder – a familiar item – then leapfrogged over an even taller ladder to the mat, just short of Matt’s face. This was just enough for the malicious Hardy sibling to lock Jeff’s neck within a steel chair for a Twist of Fate that collapsed the weapon around his painted throat.A count of three later, Matt’s arm was raised as the better Hardy for at least this night – an event for the ages: The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.John Cena def. Edge & Big Show (New World Heavyweight Champion)In front of a packed Reliant Stadium, John Cena regained the World Heavyweight Championship by defeating now former World Heavyweight Champion Edge and Big Show.More than 72,000 raucous WWE fans erupted to their feet in excitement during Cena’s entrance, which took a new take on his long-standing trademark catchphrase, “You Can’t See Me.” As far as the eye could see, dozens upon dozens of Cena lookalikes – all wearing his “Hustle, Loyalty, Respect” shirt – came out and parted ways as the genuine article came out and saluted Reliant Stadium. Though the odds were stacked against him this Sunday night, Cena’s lookalikes and fans cheered him on as he raced down to the ring, refusing to be daunted by the task at hand. After waging a brutal war with his opponents, Cena summoned from deep within and hit the Rated-R Superstar with an Attitude Adjustment. Next, he hoisted then 400-pound plus World’s Largest Athlete atop his shoulders and – with the 70,000 in attendance cheering him on – Cena dropped Big Show with a thunderous Attitude Adjustment. After the carnage, Cena pinned Big Show to regain his gold. The exhibition of brute strength caused the WWE Universe to erupt in raw emotion, putting their stamp of approval on Cena at one of the most historical events in WWE’s history. The victory was a sweet measure of revenge for the Raw Superstar who saw The Ultimate Opportunist finagle his way into the Elimination Chamber Match at No Way Out and emerge from the evil structure with Cena’s gold.Ever since that shocking night in February, Cena set his sights on regaining the World Heavyweight Championship. Like a tenacious pit bull, Cena kept himself close to the trio of SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero, her husband, Edge, and Big Show. Wherever they went – Raw or SmackDown – he there was right behind them.Cena’s persistence paid off.At the World Heavyweight Championship contract signing on Raw, Guerrero shocked her husband and Big Show by revealing that she was going to allow Cena to compete in the Triple Threat Match at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania. And it was Cena who revealed why – he had been holding onto salacious video footage of Edge’s wife and Big Show engaged in extra marital carousing.Hustle, loyalty and respect. Those attributes certainly worked for Cena over the years in the ring, and now on the big screen as star of the action-packed movie, 12 Rounds. And, at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, it was all of those traits, combined with steadfast determination and raw power that equaled success for The Champ. To find out what’s next for the new World Heavyweight Champion, tune in to Raw at 9/8 CT.WWE Champion Triple H def. Randy OrtonFor months, the venomous Randy Orton tore through the life of Triple H, brutally attacking and injuring his father-in-law, brother-in-law and even his wife. At the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, The Legend Killer had an opportunity to take away yet another thing his rival held dear: The WWE Championship. Yet despite Orton’s sadistic mind games, Triple H persevered, defeating his opponent to avenge his family and keep his coveted championship gold resting securely around his waist. The match began with not one bang, but two, as Triple H and Orton both hit their patented maneuvers (the Pedigree and RKO respectively) within moments of the contest’s start. The Game dominated the early match, prompting The Legend Killer to move the fight outside of the ring. Keenly aware of the stipulation that would have the WWE Championship change hands on a disqualification or count-out, Orton hoped to leave his opponent battered and broken outside the ring as the referee counted to 10. But Triple H was running on pure fury, repeatedly coming back from the third-generation Superstar’s underhanded tactics. With his options running out, Orton took out the referee, giving himself a few unsupervised moments to retrieve a sledgehammer from underneath the ring. But as he started to climb back in, Triple H served the venomous Superstar some of his own medicine, delivering a vicious punt and retrieving the sledgehammer for himself. While the ring official was still incapacitated, the WWE Champion clobbered Orton, setting him up a game-winning Pedigree and three-count.Randy Orton’s Road to WrestleMania began in earnest at the 2009 Royal Rumble, where with the help of The Legacy he eliminated Triple H to earn a spot at WWE’s greatest spectacle. The Legend Killer’s phenomenal win came at a time when the third-generation Superstar was already up to his eyes in trouble for punting Mr. McMahon in the head less than a week earlier. Orton’s ensuing rivalry with the WWE Chairman’s progeny quickly escalated to the point of no return, when in one night of utter brutality, Orton both punted Shane and RKO’d Stephanie, drawing her husband, a livid Triple H out to the ring to her aid.Though he had already incapacitated three beloved members of The Game’s family, Orton still had his eye on his rival’s WWE Title, and subsequently announced that he would be challenging Triple H for it at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania. Escalating into realms rarely seen in WWE, their conflict saw The Game smash his way through Orton’s St. Louis home, prompting the third-generation Superstar to once again attack his rival’s wife, but this time following it up with a demented kiss, which the handcuffed WWE Champion had no choice but to watch in rage-filled horror. With his defeat of Randy Orton, Triple H achieved much more than simply retaining the WWE Title. For months, The Legend Killer and The Legacy had run roughshod over WWE’s royal family, promising that a win at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania would begin a new era. But with a punt, a sledgehammer and a thunderous Pedigree Triple H both avenged the McMahons and put an end to Orton’s delusions of grandeur.Source: WWE.com

DALLAS – With just days to go before the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, you might expect the WWE Superstars to take it easy and conserve their energy. That wasn't the case on Monday night, as several ring warriors competing at WrestleMania found themselves in a hell of their own making. John Cena not only suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of The World's Largest Athlete, but was further battered after the match by vengeful World Heavyweight Champion Edge. Most shocking, however, was when Randy Orton began to reap what he has sown, being confronted by three angry members of the family he has spent the last few months terrorizing and picking off one-by-one: The McMahons.Randy Orton gives his WrestleMania address; Orton and his "Legacy" were confronted and attacked by the WWE Champion, Mr. McMahon & Shane McMahonAccompanied by Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase and a group of security guards, Randy Orton came to the ring for his special WrestleMania address. While describing his reprehensible actions in recent months (punting Mr. McMahon and Shane McMahon, attacking Triple H's wife Stephanie on multiple occasions), The Legend Killer explained how every step of the way was part of a plan to destroy everything The Game cares about. He then began detailing how the balance of power in WWE would permanently shift in his favor following his WrestleMania win.But before Orton could finish outlining his twisted vision of the future, a black limo arrived. Though the third-generation Superstar expected WWE Champion Triple H to make an appearance, calling Rhodes & DiBiase to his side, he was stunned by who accompanied him. Joining The Game on the stage were Mr. McMahon and his son, Shane. The three family members made their way down the ramp, where they collided with Orton and his "Legacy," ending Raw in a massive, heated WrestleMania-bound brawl.Kane def. CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Christian, United States Champion MVP, Finlay, Mark Henry and Shelton Benjamin in an Eight-Man Over-the-Top Rope Battle RoyalThe 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania will host the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, but on Raw, the match's participants competed in an Eight-Man Over the Top Rope Battle Royal. Ladder Matches require a host of skills, including speed, endurance, and a Superstar's willingness to take risks, but on Raw, the sheer force and power of Kane enabled him to taste victory. Following the match, The Big Red Monster climbed a ladder in the center of the ring to symbolically grab the briefcase suspended above the ring.Shawn Michaels holds a funeral for Undertaker's undefeated WrestleMania streak; The Phenom emerged and received some Sweet Chin Music from HBKWhen Shawn Michaels came to the ring, it became clear that the "funeral" announced earlier in the night was not for HBK, but rather for the undefeated WrestleMania streak of his opponent, Undertaker. Complete with a casket, roses and images of Michaels defeating The Deadman in their past encounters, the service saw HBK boast of his actions during recent weeks: Kicking Undertaker in the face and trespassing on his hollowed cemetery. The Showstopper announced that he had done all of this without enduring any retribution, and promised that the most memorable moment of the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania would be his victory over The Phenom.Just then, the arena darkened and a gong rang out, heralding the arrival of Undertaker. When the lights came back up, The Phenom stood in the ring, but Michaels was nowhere to be seen. As The Deadman searched, HBK emerged from under the casket and once again laid Undertaker out with a superkick.Big Show def. John Cena, who was attacked by Edge after the matchIn a preview of some of the intense in-ring action the WWE Universe can expect to see at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, two-thirds of the World Heavyweight Title Triple Threat Match, John Cena and Big Show, squared off in the ring. The World's Largest Athlete sent an exceptionally clear message to the 12 Rounds star, using his immense size and power advantage to defeat Cena. But even after the bell rang, Cena's suffering wasn't over. The maniacal Edge ran to the ring from the crowd, making eye contact with Big Show before he viciously assaulted their WrestleMania opponent, perhaps taking revenge for Cena's earlier refusal to work together against The World's Largest Athlete.Rey Mysterio def. Intercontinental Champion JBL in a non-title matchIntercontinental Champion JBL has promised to deliver the most decisive victory in WrestleMania history when he puts his title on the line against Rey Mysterio. However, The Longhorn Loudmouth might need to reconsider his strategy after suffering a loss to The Master of the 619 during a non-title match on Raw.Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase claimed that Randy Orton's WrestleMania address affects the entire WWE Universe; Shawn Michaels arrives in a hearseElsewhere in the locker room area, Randy Orton's "Legacy" cohorts, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase announced that their leader's WrestleMania address wasn't directed at Triple H, but rather at the entire WWE Universe. The two went on to promise that after WrestleMania, everything about WWE would change forever.Outside of the arena, a black hearse had been waiting since the start of the show. The WWE Universe was shocked to find out that the hearse did not contain the grim Undertaker, but rather a confident Shawn Michaels, casting an air of uncertainty over the previously announced "Funeral for Mr. WrestleMania."Chris Jericho def. Jerry "The King" LawlerThough younger members of the WWE Universe might know Jerry Lawler as one of the voices of Raw, "The King" also boasts a distinguished in-ring career. Incensed over Chris Jericho's recent brutal attack on WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, Lawler challenged the nefarious Superstar to a match on Raw. In spite of his opponent's extensive experience, it was the cruel, vicious style of Jericho that prevailed, forcing the Raw announcer to submit.During the match it was announced that the first-ever Undisputed Champion's WrestleMania match against "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka & Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat would require Jericho to defeat each Legend individually. After his victory, the nefarious Superstar made clear his intention to annihilate each of his opponents in turn, making his own name synonymous with "Legend."Tiffany won an 18-Diva Tag Team Match for her team; Santino Marella was attacked when he announced he still plans to compete in the 25-Diva Battle RoyalAt the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, a 25-Diva Battle Royal will be held to determine the first "Miss WrestleMania." Opening Raw, 18 of those Divas squared off in a massive tag team match. Out of the chaos that ensued, Tiffany emerged victorious, pinning Katie Lea Burchill to lead her team to victory.Directly following the match, Santino Marella made his way out to the ring. In spite of being denied entry to the Battle Royal the week before courtesy of a loss to Mickie James, the Italian Superstar is still intent on becoming "Miss WrestleMania." To illustrate his worthiness, Santino showed off his "mankini" as part of an impromptu swimsuit competition. The Divas didn't take kindly to the scantily clad Superstar's claims of superiority and a massive melee broke out with the "Santino's Casa" star right in the middle, though the craven Italian managed to escape.Source: WWE.com

Former WWE creative team writer Seth Mates has given his prediction on what the ending for the Triple H vs. Randy Orton WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 25 should be on his latest blog at newsday.com. "The only logical finish for the Triple H vs. Randy Orton match is for Orton to win the title, but having a heel victory in the main event of WrestleMania is not how you want your fans to walk away from the biggest show of the year. It sucked the life out of WrestleMania 2000 when HHH won the main event as a heel."He also gave his prediction on the Triple Threat World Heavyweight Championship match, "I expect babyface Cena to walk out of the Triple Threat with Edge and Big Show as champion, the match just has no 'oomph' to it. I really wish they'd just done a singles match with Edge and Cena, which has a 'WrestleMania' feel to it and could have been a slam-dunk as a last match."Mates said that he would add Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker as the last match at WrestleMania 25.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – With the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania right around the corner, Raw was a tense affair. After World Heavyweight Champion Edge leveled Big Show with a spear the week before, the two's relationship deteriorated to a point where they were ready to face off on Raw – a match that ended with The World's Largest Athlete K.O.ing The Rated-R Superstar. Even more brutal however, The Legend Killer and his "Legacy" viciously attacked not only WWE Champion Triple H, but also his wife, Stephanie McMahon, whose unconscious body Orton kissed as a restrained Cerebral Assassin had no choice but to look on.WWE Champion Triple H vs. Randy Orton & Ted DiBiase ends in a brawl; Orton & "Legacy" attack Triple H and Stephanie McMahonHoping to deliver some payback to WWE Champion Triple H after he decimated Cody Rhodes the week before, Randy Orton faced his WrestleMania opponent in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match, with Ted DiBiase at his side. Triple H had barely entered the ring when the three men launched themselves at each other. Looking for an equalizer, The Game went under the ring apron to retrieve his signature sledgehammer, but was confronted by Rhodes, who had been lying in wait. The Legend Killer and his fellow multi-generational Superstars then attacked the WWE Champion, handcuffing him to the ropes. With The Game restrained, Orton said that there was only one person who could save Triple H and that she better come out. Against the warnings of the WWE Champion, a terrified Stephanie McMahon made her way down the entrance ramp. After climbing onto the ring apron, the Executive Vice President had second thoughts and tried to get away, but her path was blocked by Rhodes & DiBiase. Orton then grabbed her, delivering a vicious DDT from the second rope. Playing further mind games with The Cerebral Assassin, The Legend Killer leaned down and kissed the unconscious Stephanie, taunting Triple H before clobbering him with a sledgehammer.Mickie James def. Santino Marella in an Intergender MatchAt the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, an appropriate number of Divas (25) will compete in a Battle Royal to determine who will be given the title of Miss WrestleMania. Santino Marella, however, was incensed that he would be denied an opportunity to compete in this match solely due to his gender. So, Raw's interim General Manager, Vickie Guerrero, told The Italian Superstar that he could earn a spot in the match by defeating Mickie James with one arm tied behind his back. Unfortunately for Marella, he missed out on his opportunity to become Miss WrestleMania after The Glamazon inadvertently knocked him off the turnbuckle, allowing Mickie to pick up the win after a quick kick.Undertaker appears to warn Shawn Michaels; HBK addresses The Phenom from a graveyardSmackDown Superstar Undertaker emerged on Raw to warn his WrestleMania opponent of what's in store for him on The Grandest Stage of Them All. The Phenom noted that while it's true that he has never defeated HBK, the last time they faced, Michaels' body was so broken that he spent the next five years recovering. Not one to be outdone, Shawn Michaels appeared, addressing Undertaker from a graveyard. HBK made it known that he isn't afraid of his match with Undertaker, and won't be intimidated. The Showstopper went on to promise that Undertaker would be the one to rest in peace.Rey Mysterio def. William RegalThe week before, new Intercontinental Champion JBL accepted Rey Mysterio's challenge to a match at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania with the title at stake. On Raw, the self-made millionaire gave William Regal and Layla a lift to the ring in his limo for The British Brawler's match against The Master of the 619. During the contest, the Intercontinental Champion sat at commentary, laying out his plan to experience one of the most decisive victories in WrestleMania history. Mysterio experienced a decisive victory of his own, hitting Regal with a 619 and pinning his opponent. After the match, JBL approached the ring, clapping and mocking The Ultimate Underdog, but Mysterio had the last laugh, delivering a sliding kick to The Longhorn Loudmouth.World Heavyweight Champion Edge vs. Big Show ended in a no contestPrior to the match between World Heavyweight Champion Edge and Big Show, John Cena sent a special get well card to Vickie Guerrero and promised that he would be on Raw the following week. During the match, Edge's wife and Big Show's lover, Vickie Guerrero, looked on from ringside with her nephew, Chavo Guerrero. Upset by the sight of her two men beating the living daylights out of one another, Vickie sent Chavo in to break them up. Edge went to spear Big Show, but when The World's Largest Athlete moved out of the way, Chavo was the recipient of Edge's attack. This gave Big Show just the opportunity he needed, clobbering Edge with a knockout punch.CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Christian & United States Champion MVP def. Kane, Mark Henry, Finlay & Shelton BenjaminGiving the eight participants a chance to size one another up prior to the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Christian & United States Champion MVP took on the team of Kane, Mark Henry, Finlay & Shelton Benjamin. Sending a clear message to the other ring warriors, Christian pinned Shelton Benjamin to lead his team to victory. But his celebration was cut short as another ECW Superstar, Finlay attacked, clearing the ring with a ladder.Jeff Hardy def. Dolph Ziggler in an Extreme Rules MatchIn just a matter of weeks, Jeff Hardy will face his brother Matt in a contest at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, contested under Extreme Rules. In an effort to show his devious brother just what's in store for him, The Charismatic Enigma competed in an Extreme Rules Match against the ambitious Dolph Ziggler. However, Ziggler's aggression wasn't enough to stand against the relentless assault of Hardy, who picked up the win. Afterward, Hardy promised his brother that what he just saw wasn't extreme, but their match at WrestleMania will be.Ric Flair accepts Chris Jericho's challenge on behalf of Roddy Piper, Jimmy Snuka & Ricky Steamboat; Jericho attacks Flair, prompting Jerry Lawler to challenge Jericho to a matchRaw was opened by none other than WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, accepting Chris Jericho's challenge to a 3-on-1 Handicap Match at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania on behalf of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka and Ricky Steamboat. Additionally, The "Nature Boy" announced that he would be watching all of the action from the WWE Legends' corner. 'Naitch was then interrupted by Chris Jericho, who, continuing to kick dirt on Piper, Snuka, Steamboat and Flair himself, announced his intention to beat and humiliate the WWE Legends. The "Nature Boy" had other ideas, and began describing how he imagined the night going, but was interrupted by a vicious punch from Jericho. The first-ever Undisputed Champion proceeded to brutally beat Flair, smashing him into the steel stairs, tearing his suit off of him and even destroying the gold watch given to 'Naitch by Shawn Michaels after WrestleMania XXIV . Later in the show, fed up with the complete lack of respect Jericho has shown toward the WWE Legends, Lawler challenged the first-ever Undisputed Champion to a match on the next Raw.Source: WWE.com

FRESNO, Calif. – Just two days before No Way Out, four of the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Match participants fought it out in a Fatal Four Way, while another made his heroic return to SmackDown. But, in the midst of the pomp and circumstance, the opportunistic WWE Champion once again found a way to come out on top and steal the thunder from all of them.
Triple H vs. Undertaker vs. Big Show vs. Vladimir Kozlov (No contest) (Fatal Four Way Match)
WWE Champion Edge placed the blame for the neck injury he claimed to have sustained one week ago at the hands of Undertaker squarely on the shoulders of his tag team partner, Big Show. SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero wasted no time announcing that she would not risk her husband competing until No Way Out this Sunday. However, after Big Show interrupted them and exchanged harsh words with the champion, Guerrero had no trouble informing him that he would be in a Fatal Four Way Match with three of his Elimination Chamber opponents: The Game, the Moscow Mauler, and The Phenom.
In the critical climax of the grueling back and forth battle between four of WWE's most dominant Superstars, the Ultimate Opportunist suddenly dove into the action, spearing The World's Largest Athlete to snatch the momentum heading into No Way Out.
Jeff Hardy returns to SmackDown
Seemingly recovered from the shocking attack by his brother Matt Hardy that cost him his WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble several weeks ago, Jeff Hardy made his return to SmackDown. Although he acknowledged that the events of recent weeks have affected him deeply, he told the WWE Universe that he intends to look forward, and is 100 percent focused on regaining his gold at No Way Out this Sunday.
Don't miss the punishment, as all six Superstars battle for the WWE Championship in the dreaded 16-foot-high, 10-ton ominous steel structure of the Elimination Chamber at No Way Out this Sunday.
Montel Vontavious Porter def. Chavo Guerrero (DQ)
After Chavo Guerrero eliminated MVP in last week's SmackDown Battle Royal, the reinvigorated Franchise Playa' was out for some payback. But, just as he was rallying from a hard-fought match, United States Champion Shelton Benjamin emerged from nowhere to deliver Pay Dirt, getting some retribution of his own after losing to MVP in a non-title match last week. However, this gave MVP the win by disqualification, continuing his winning streak. The self-proclaimed "Mexican warrior," Chavo Guerrero decided to add insult to injury, hitting the unconscious Ballin' Superstar with the Frog Splash and raising his own arms in victory.
World Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison def. WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo
Carlito and Primo failed to get Nikki & Brie Bella flowers for Valentine's Day. But, Miz & Morrison did not. This prompted a match to determine which tag team champions would take out the Bella Twins on Valentine's Day night. With the referee distracted, Miz threw Primo from the top rope, setting up Morrison for the victory. Following the loss, Nikki & Brie exited ringside with the "Dirt Sheet" duo, leaving Carlito & Primo without the win or the Divas.
Maria def. Michelle McCool
After being attacked weeks ago by Michelle McCool, Maria was out to even the score. Michelle, however, had every intention of continuing her vicious wrath upon SmackDown Divas, targeting Maria's injured ankle throughout their match. After her loss in debut singles action to McCool last week, Eve charged down the entrance ramp to help her friend Maria in any way she could. Michelle immediately started bullying the 2007 Diva Search winner, but Eve would not back down. However, the distraction created when McCool threw Eve into the ring allowed Maria to roll the former Divas Champion up for the three-count.
R-Truth def. Ezekiel Jackson
Despite a powerful onslaught by the intimidating Jackson, R-Truth ended Ezekiel's undefeated record, reversing The Brian Kendrick's associate's ura-nage finisher for the quick pin.
