In regards to sales figures for the new "TNA iMPACT!" video game that was released in the second week of September, VGChartz (which is considered the most accurate chart by those within the video game industry) is listing the game as selling 98,000 units in its first week. The 98,000 sold were broken down as 40,000 for Xbox 360 (No. 27), 32,000 for PS2 (No. 34) and 26,000 for PS3 (No. 47). The early prediction right now is that the game will sell around 200,000 units total.

The first week sales figures were not considered good in what hopes to be a new franchise for Midway. In looking at aspects like developmental costs on a first-time product built from scratch, marketing costs and the assumption that hardcore TNA fans would buy early (which is based on past TNA DVD titles selling strong in its first week and then dropping off the charts soon after), it would seem right now things are not looking very good.

There is hope that sales for the game could increase around Christmas, although reviews for the game were either average or bad and that is something they have working against them already. There are some within the video game industry speculating that there won't be a second version of the game released based on these early numbers. Reports had stated that Midway was already in production working on a second title right now, so where that goes remains to be seen.
