The ex-wife of former Canadian professional wrestler Ivan "The Croatian Giant" Radocaj (picture) has been charged with first degree murder in connection with his death.

Meldoy Lynn Sanford, 43, of Winnipeg has been in custody since January 2008 when she was charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Ironically, she was slated to appear in court Wednesday afternoon where she was going to enter guilty plea and receive sentencing on that charge.

According to the prosecutors on the case, it was the ongoing investigation of Radocaj's death that led to the upgrade in charges this week.

Radocaj died of blunt force trauma after being beaten in his home in September of 2007.

Sanford's friend, Rita Louise Cushnie, 53, was also charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Three family members of Cushnie had previously been charged with first degree murder in the beating death.

Prosecutors contend that Sanford threatened to kill the former pro wrestler in the weeks leading up to his death.

The couple were married for only three weeks during the summer of 2007.

Radocaj's wrestling career spanned the early 1980s. He worked under a number of names including The Croatian Giant, Ivan the Giant, and Big John Radocaj.

Sanford filed a petition for a protection order against Radocaj, which was granted by the courts and banned the man from coming with 500 meters of her.

She claimed Radocaj was jealous of the time she was spending with friends, family and even her pets. "He was angry that I would cuddle with my cats," she wrote in her affidavit.

Ring of Honor has posted a video clip of "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair's entire first televised ROH promo from the May 2 edition of ROH TV on HDNet. Flair, who now serves as the official "ROH Ambassador", cuts a promo and is later joined by ROH World Champion Jerry Lynn. The two men are then interrupted by Austin Aries. Britney Spears Body Double Signs WWE Deal

Posted by Donny | Wednesday, May 13, 2009

WWE has signed Rachael Carr, a British model and dancer who has done body-double work for Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, to a developmental contract. In an interview with The Sun, Carr says she was approached by WWE recruiter Lou Maggio, who asked her to audition. She's now training at Florida Championship Wrestling, WWE's developmental territory, five days each month and plans to dedicate herself to learning the craft of a WWE Diva.

"You train for between six months and two years before you're ready to move up," she said. "I was so excited to go over there and meet everybody, but I was also scared. On my first time over, watching the girls throw themselves around, I thought I couldn't do it. I've only just begun the training so I'm not doing too much of the physical stuff at the moment."

Carr certainly has the look and body type of a typical WWE diva and hopes that will help her make it to WWE television one day. "They want me to be a cutie. Because I'm quite small and little, they want the whole angel thing coming over. Hopefully it will go well, I'll perfect my wrestling and my character and I'll end up with a full time WWE contract."

The Ring of Honor announced yesterday that former ECW, WCW and WWE superstar Lance Storm will be coming out of retirement this summer to work two ROH shows in Toronto on July 25 and 26. Here is the announcement as seen on rohwrestling.com:

It's been nearly ten months since Lance Storm stood in front of the ROH faithful at "Northern Navigation" on July 25, 2008 where he was disrespected by Sweet & Sour Incorporated, and left Shane Hagadorn laying with a superkick. And it's been even longer, April 1, 2006 at "Better Than Our Best", since Storm entered into ROH competition. That night it was an epic, nearly thirty minute classic against Bryan Danielson for the ROH World Title. Storm came up short in his bid to become the champ but without question won over the fans of Ring of Honor

On July 24th and 25th, one year since he last appeared for ROH, Lance Storm will not only come back to ROH, he will return to active competition! At the Ted Reeve Arena in downtown Toronto, Storm will make his ROH in-ring return with matches on both nights! His opponents have yet to be determined but stay tuned to upcoming Newswires for more details on whom Storm will face when he returns to the ring.

When you add Storm's name to a weekend that already includes appearances by Bret Hart on July 24th and Ric Flair on the 25th, ROH's return to Canada is shaping up to be an historic one. Tickets are on sale now for both events here at www.rohwrestling.com, and you can save up to 40% off until Tuesday at noon. You don't want to miss out on this historic weekend! Get your tickets now!
