The Mayhem Crew welcomed Sid to the program for the first time ever, without wasting any time, Blade asked if wrestling fans will indeed see Sid in the WWE in 2008. Sid answered the question on the hearts and minds of wrestling fans around the world by saying he really hopes so. He added that after his leg break at the WCW Sin PPV in 2001, he set a goal for himself to make it back into wrestling and to be remembered in a much better view. He said it would be a great opportunity, which he thinks he will get sometime by the end of the year.Mosh asked Sid for his thoughts/takes on the recent torn triceps injury to "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, and what Sid thinks the future holds for him. Sid said that HBK is a hard worker, great technician, and "one of the smoothest people in the ring." He then compared Michaels to Harley Race in terms of being a great worker, and said he will be able to come back from the injury easily. He added that while it might prevent him from being able to get up as quickly as Shawn does, he "still has a little gas in the tank." If Shawn could not land up going this Sunday night at Unforgiven, would Sid be up for the task of going to bat for his former colleague and possibly take this place if given the opportunity? You can only find the answer to this question by listening to our exclusive interview with Sid himself!Blade then asked Sid if he would agree that the best/smartest wrestlers are the guys like Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, and Sid himself, who can draw big crowds, and sell tickets. In response, Sid referenced story about how when he and Paul Heyman (as Paul E. Dangeously in WCW) used to ride together, and one time Paul told him he would never reach the "greatest workers" plateau. Sid went on to say that everyone's objective is the same in wrestling, which is to sell tickets, and he believes that "exemplifies" the work of the people who can accomplish doing it.Blade and DFL went on to question Sid about rumors of him signing with TNA, which Sid was very vocal about. He said that he did receive a few calls from TNA, but told them it was "nothing personal" about his decision not to go there. He added that he just has a personal goal of wanting to be on the main stage again, main eventing in 70,000-80,000-plus seat arenas -- something "you could never do in TNA." As an example to why he would never go to TNA, he used the recent example of Kurt Angle losing his gold medals to "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles, which Sid compared to as losing his "one link of credibility in this business." He said personally if he ever won a major championship in another sport, he would never put them up in a situation like the Kurt/AJ match. He also wished to add for the record that he has never had a problem with Jeff Jarrett, or at least one that he knows of.In regards to Sting's career in TNA, Sid said that its another disappointment for him. "I know what Sting had to offer to this business, and he doesn't have it to offer anymore because he's in TNA. He's watered down." He added that if he went to Vince McMahon, he would have made a big difference, and while he still can, it will not be as big as it could have been. Sid then stated that Kevin Nash is another guy that can still draw and make a big difference as well.As many of Sid's fans know, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair has had some recent comments to say about his former Horsemen partner (Sid), and with Flair's recent retirement, The Mayhem Crew asked Sid if he thinks Ric's retirement will be just another infamous "wrestling retirement," or if he is really done for good. Sid said that he hopes Flair is not done for good, as he's a great guy. He added that with "The Nature Boy's" WWE release being due to an indifference over personal appearances, as one of the boys, he thinks Flair should have been allowed to be able to have more leeway and leverage with it while he was at the end of his career. When Sid thinks of what defines a "champion," he thinks of "The Nature Boy."Mosh transitioned the interview to one of the most dominant superstars in the history of the business, and one that Sid has been on the opposite side of the ring from multiple times: The Undertaker. Sid classified his feud with The 'Taker and his match at WrestleMania 13 as one of the true highlights of his career. As a follow-up, Mosh asked Sid if and when he came back to World Wrestling Entertainment, if "The Dead Man" would be at the top of the list of guys he would want to work with and whether or not their program could deliver as well as or better than their clash at "The Showcase Of The Immortals." Sid said that he "would have to be...for a lot of reasons," as The Undertaker is one of the talents that Sid has worked with in the past very well. On the opposing scale, when Blade said that he would like to see Sid take down The Great Khali, Sid said that from what he has seen of Khali, he cannot see himself working with The Punjabi Giant and it being a "money-making match."More in this 50+ minute interview with Sid, including his uncensored thoughts/takes on what other superstars he would like to work with if/when he returns to WWE, what he believes really killed WCW, why The Ultimate Warrior's success was a result of the wrestling boom of the late '80s and early '90's, where he thinks Goldberg's "last match" will be, "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan's future (and how he might have a role in it) and how "Hogan Knows Best" affected it, and much more! There's talk that a new pro wrestling project could be coming off the heels of Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling on CMT this October, possibly produced by Bischoff-Hervey Productions, which is also working on the Hogan Celebrity show. There is nothing set in stone right now but there has been discussions within CMT, but probably not beyond the idea of the company being interested in producing something. There's no guarantee that anything will come out of this and no details on talent involved, tapings or anything else like that has even been discussed. Apparently there was some sort of finish filmed for the finale of Hogan Celebrity show that left an angle open for future projects if CMT wanted to do more wrestling-related programs. The Hogan's show debuts on October 18th and features celebrities like Danny Bonaduce, Eric "Butterbean" Esch, Frank Stallone, Trishelle Cannatella, Todd Bridges, Dennis Rodman, Screech and others training under wrestlers like Brutus Beefcake and Brian Knobbs. It's interesting to note that Bischoff wrote a blog on his website and mentioned that working on the Hogan Celebrity show had "whetted his appetite" for being involved in wrestling again and left the door open for him getting back into the business at some point. It's also interesting to point out that the timing of the new proposed Bischoff project with CMT came around the same time that former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Bill Goldberg announced he was training for a return to wrestling, with no promotion mentioned or other details revealed. We could see him wind up here if this were to take place. We'll just have to wait and see if anything comes out of all this talk.

Hundreds of people, many of them younger wrestlers, gathered today at a Malden church to pay their respects to Walter "Killer" Kowalski, the wrestling legend who died during the weekend at the age of 81.Kowalski, who retired in the late 1970s and taught wrestling in the Boston area afterwards, taught students "how to carry yourself as a champion, how to protect your opponent as well as yourself, the dignity that comes with sweat, and how to scare little kids," Don Bravo, an old associate of Kowalski's, said in the eulogy. One of Kowalski's most famous students, Paul Levesque, also known as "Triple H," the current World Wrestling Federation world champion, said after the service that Kowalski was an amazing teacher who imparted his wisdom so "guys could live the dream he lived."The crowd at St. Joseph's Church included young men with shaved heads, long ponytails, and long feathered curls, who had been Kowalski's students. A few women were also among those in the crowd. Many had traveled from far away to attend. Some wore purple because Kowalski had believed that that color was the best for a wrestler. A reporter and photographer from Japan, where Kowalski had a following, attended.Kowalski was famous for his signature move, the claw hold, which consisted of grabbing his opponent's stomach and twisting, the Globe reported Sunday. He retired from pro wrestling, which requires equal parts athleticism and showmanship, in April 1977 and then taught his techniques in Malden and North Andover, holding classes every Saturday up until March.Outside the ring, Kowalski was a vegetarian who enjoyed classical music, philosophy, and photography, and followed the teachings of Jesus. He suffered a massive heart attack Aug. 8 and was taken off life support Aug. 18.A member of World Wrestling Entertainment's Hall of Fame, Kowalski leaves behind his wife, Theresa Ferrioli, and a brother, Stanley Spulnik of Ottawa.Picture: Pallbearers (left to right) Paul Levesque, also known as "Triple H", Dan Ouellette, Jamie Jamacoski and Mike Hollow carried pro wrestling legend Walter "Killer" Kowalski into St. Joseph's Church.Taken from: http://www.boston.com/news/local/breaking_news/2008/09/wrestler_kowals.html

MVP upset WWE management following a recent incident in which he made a derogatory comment to one of the drug testing monitors who watches the WWE performers while they submit urine samples.Following the implementation of the WWE Wellness policy a few years ago, some wrestlers were submitting fake urine samples to beat the drug tests. One wrestler was eventually caught cheating in WWE developmental wrestler Afa Anoa'i Jr. As a result, Anoa'i was suspended by WWE for 30 days, on March 20, 2008, as cheating is an obvious violation of the WWE's Wellness policy. Following the incident, WWE instituted a new rule in which the performers have to be bare from their chest down to their knees while giving urine in front of a doctor to make sure they're not cheating. A number of the wrestlers are grouchy to the monitors as you would imagine. However, MVP went too far in what he said to one of them.MVP asked the monitor if he graduated from college. The monitor said yet. MVP then insulted him, saying something along the lines of, "So you went to school for four years to watch people's (expletive)?"The monitor promptly complained to WWE head of talent relations John Laurinaitis as well as Bruce Prichard. Soon after, Laurinaitis indirectly addressed the matter in locker room meeting, instructing talent to be respectful of the testers and to not harass them. People aware of the MVP incident felt it was obvious that the meeting was held due to it.Since the incident, MVP has been getting the cold shoulder from a few officials. Suddenly, the word backstage is that he doesn't know how to work as a heel to get heat. At last week's SmackDown/ECW tapings in Pittsburgh, Shelton Benjamin - who's been in-and-out of favor with WWE officials for a number of years - was given high praise in that he knows to work as an effective heel. They liked his smiling facials after he laid out MVP with his "Paydirt" finisher and more so later in the show after clocking Triple H with a belt.

After a wild beginning on ECW on Sci Fi with a live edition of "The Dirt Sheet," Matt Hardy, Finlay, Tommy Dreamer & Evan Bourne won an Eight-Man Tag Team Match, with Hardy pinning ECW Champion Mark Henry for the victory – after the World's Strongest Man was given a Shooting Star Press by Bourne, a splash from Dreamer, a body splash from Finlay, and a Twist of Fate from Hardy. In an Extreme world where five Superstars will vie for the ECW Championship at Unforgiven, things were upside down when The Miz & John Morrison hosted a special episode of their hit WWE.com show, "The Dirt Sheet," on ECW on Sci Fi. Miz is one of the challengers in the ECW Championship Scramble on Sunday, and he was joined by guests Matt Hardy, Chavo Guerrero, Finlay and the World's Strongest Champion, Mark Henry. Each guest, however, was treated to the insulting words of Miz & Morrison – words that sparked a wild melee when Morrison hit Hardy with a microphone. As Miz, Morrison, Guerrero, Bam Neely, Mark Henry and WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas attacked Hardy and Finlay, Evan Bourne and Tommy Dreamer rushed to their aid, clearing the ring of the imminent threat. Who will walk out of Unforgiven with the ECW gold? Can Henry hold on despite the 80 percent chance of losing his title? Or will someone else step up and take the gold for themselves?Ricky Ortiz continued his undefeated streak on ECW, defeating Ryan Braddock. The towel-waving Ortiz has been impressive during his streak, but how long can he keep the victories piling up?Victories seem to be eluding newcomer Gavin Spears who, despite his claims that he is the "crown jewel" of ECW General Manager Theodore Long's New Superstar Initiative, has yet to taste success on ECW on Sci Fi. Spears did battle with Super Crazy Tuesday night, once again coming up short in his bid to earn his first win. Will Spears live up to his claims?Taken from: ecw.com
